Why am I a "Good News Junkies"? Part 1

Because I am a sinner!

Everyday, every hour, I am desperate to be saved from all of our sins by Jesus: His life, death, and resurrection. Jesus dealt with my sin! This is great news! Without the good news of Jesus, I am a hopeless sinner. I would stand guilty, condemned, enslaved, and hopeless! Now I am forgiven, righteous, and have hope for the future! I am a Good News Junkie because everyday I cannot live without Jesus because everyday I am still a sinner.

Here are some favorite quotes:

Jesus: " For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

The apostle Paul: "The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost."

The apostle Peter: " For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous,
that he might bring us to God"

Jerry Bridges: “Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.”

John Piper:
"The good news is that God himself has decreed a way to satisfy the demands of his justice without condemning the whole human race. Hell is one way to settle accounts with sinners and uphold his justice. But there is another way. The wisdom of God has ordained a way for the love of God to deliver us from the wrath of God without compromising the justice of God"

Thomas is growing up!

It is exciting to see how he is learning how to bike and swim.

He can also drive a jeep....

Blueberry Blessing is alive!

We were going 5 mph when Blueberry died. We thought she was a goner. We towed her to a local mechanic. We called the next day and they let us know that if we wanted to save Blueberry it would be alot of money so we were pondering life without Blueberry. Then we prayed. We prayed for wisdom from God. In Damascus, Virginia God answered our prayer with "Yes". We weren't looking for it but our friend Gaines called a friend who gave us the "idea" We risked $200 to see if his idea worked. Praise God it did. Now we can get to Minneasota and all of the places the Lord has us for the next few months. This is a great reminder that God answers prayer!

Our talented daughter

Bliss just got back from Strong Rock summer camp and had a great time. I didn't know she was such a gifted dancer. She also has become quite the horse rider.

Global News

One way to share in our life and the lives of billions others is to understand their unique challenges and pray for them. Here is one suggestion: Add global news (from a non-Western perspective) to your normal news intake.

Here are a few websites that I've found helpful:

One minute world news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/

Our first blog

This is my first blog ever!! I guess I am now a "blogger". Why? I hope this will be a great place to let you know what we are up to as a family so you can pray for us and share with us in our journey.

The next few months are going to be quite a journey! I'm so glad my wife is practicing the 6 Ps

Prior preparation prevents poor pitiful performance. She has already packed 3 of our 8 overseas bags.

We will be here in the South until July 12th or so when we will head to the Midwest to be with my wife's family for two weeks or so.

Here are a few prayers and praises until then.

Praise God for our revived van!

Praise God for providing a wonderful home for us now.

Praise God for so many fellowships that are praying for us and supporting us.

Please pray for comfort in Christ as we leave "things" and loved ones behind

Please pray for a closer fellowship with Christ as we go through these transitions.

I will try to post more soon!

This is how it feels after packing....
